Dear artist, writer, poet, painter, knitter, cook, gardener, crocheter, maker of many things,
You’re a creative star but struggle to truly shine with your gifts. You might have a book idea but never get around to writing. You have tons of ideas but get lost choosing the ‘right’ one. You follow your creative impulses, but they’re so abundant that you feel ‘all over the place’ and rarely finish anything.
Perhaps you’ve put your creative dreams in the closet to tend to life’s pressing demands, like caregiving or making a living.
But now, you’re tired of your artist being pushed to the edges of life, given a tiny corner, a random scrap of time to write that screenplay or make a doodle. You know that life is better when your creativity has its rightful place in your days.
You crave a relationship with your artist that feels true to you and fits into your life. You’ve read books, listened to podcasts and even taken classes you hope will provide the magic trick to make creating easier. But external advice doesn’t seem to stick.
Bold assertion ahead
It’s time to abandon popular notions of productivity that have never worked for you and that have succeeded only in making you feel like a failure.
I believe the clues to set our artist free are inside us.
It’s okay to need help finding the keys to unlock your creative satisfaction. If you’ve read all the advice you can get your hands on about making time and getting past your excuses and still aren’t satisfied with how your creative life is going, Your Artist Knows the Way.
Let’s stop copying others. Your artist knows the way. With dedicated exploration of trial and error with your artist, you will discover the glorious power of knowing and acting upon what is right for you. This is what my clients get when they work with me, and this is what I want for everyone.
Your Artist Knows the Way is a program designed to help you write your own manual. This is not a feel-good newsletter to read passively and go on with your day. It’s made to help you feel truly empowered around your creativity. You will gain clarity and confidence to know what to do, when so you can meet your creative goals on your terms.
How You Will Write Your Artist Manual
Each week, you will receive an ‘invitation’ from me, your creativity coach. These prompts have been thriving with my clients for years, and now I am opening them up to you. Most involve short reflective writing—writing to understand yourself and your artist. Most will take no longer than 15 minutes.
Your responses to the invitations become a manual that defines your creative life. You will choose one notebook (digital or paper, whatever your artist loves) to capture your artist’s needs and wants.
Consider your manual as operating instructions for how to best care for your artist. These instructions will help you remember your true nature when life tries to pull you away from your commitment to your artist.
Your manual will be unique to you and will reflect your gifts and honor your lifestyle. Embellish, collage, paint, and make a song of it…have fun with it! Your artist will riff on my invitations to design a creative life you truly love.
With your completed artist’s manual, you will know how to:
decide what to make, when, and why
take intentional breaks without angst
get back in the saddle when life has disrupted your flow
make the most of your creative time even when life is super busy
feel great satisfaction and reward from your creative work at all phases of the process.
While I will share some of the practices that have helped others build satisfying creative lives, my invitations are designed to help you identify your own way.

About your guide
I’m Cynthia Morris, and I’m here to help you know, love, and trust your creativity. The insights you will gain through this program will empower you to easily create on your own terms.
I’m a certified coach through the global leader in coach training. For 25 years, I have been guiding artists, writers, and entrepreneurs to make on their own terms. My clients have learned to listen to and trust themselves instead of the echo chamber of productivity advice that often doesn’t fit their needs.
Sure, we pick up hacks and insights here and there. No one creates in a vacuum. But my clients are successful in writing and publishing books, finishing bodies of work, and launching businesses because they took the time to know themselves deeply.
I’ve used my coaching tools to be a fulfilled writer, artist, and entrepreneur. I’ve published eight books, including the Paris historical novel Chasing Sylvia Beach and The Busy Woman’s Guide to Writing a World-Changing Book. I’m writing my second novel When Water Meets Rock.
As an artist, I’ve produced and sold many bodies of artwork, including illustrated card decks like Writual Blessings. I’ve made my French degree useful by leading life-changing programs in Paris and elsewhere since 2005. I’ve designed and led dozens of creativity immersions, including Meet Your Writer in Paris, Paris Sketchbook, and Capture the Lisbon Wow.
My coach training has empowered me to live my best creative life. It’s my total joy and true honor to help others fulfill their creative destiny.
Your Artist Knows the Way started as a book that I have been writing for over a decade. I’ve been testing the invitations with my clients who have been empowered to know their own process. I can’t hold this information back any longer and can’t wait for a book. I want you to have the kind of creative empowerment you deserve.
Finally, you’ve found a place where your artist gets to be heard, understood, and respected. Welcome! This is going to be fun, easy, and life-changing.
Don’t delay your creative joy one more minute. Get in here with other artists and writers ready to fulfill their creative purpose.
