Being in the midst of creative burnout, nothing inspires me. But I find comfort in cats and coffee. My favourite part of the day is sitting in my armchair at daybreak, cats on my lap, coffee in my hands, watching dawn through the window.
My 5am morning coffee as I hear the hummingbirds whirring past my screen door. Finding unexpected treasures in nature I can bring home to observe on my art table. Rain on the roof of my mountain home.
Watching animals, especially birds and the fawns (4 in the yard yesterday!), my whimsical plant pot with the face and the glasses, Sniffing flowers, my morning tea with cookies:)
One thing I love: Color. Color gives me joy. Color in nature. Color in paints. Color in art. Even looking at paint chips at the hardware store! Letting colors into my eyes is a kind of food for my soul.
My glimmers/joy sparkers: pug cuddles, matcha tea, rain, feeling seen, blooming gardenia, rose candles, visiting Bonnard paintings, time in Paris—to name a few! xx

Walks in the national park near my home, a pot of tea, birds out my window, the shifting sky, a comfy armchair, inner spaciousness ❤️
Lovely! A shifting sky...so evocative!
Flowers. The shapes and colors of petals. How sepals form part of the flower.
Me too! Flowers mesmerize me!
