I've got to upgrade to paid next week (new monthly $ schedule).... I've been thinking I need to do a massive regrouping. Part of my Crone adventure I guess. I am not really feeling it in the online comics group I'm in any more. I don’t want to go to any comics fests/events. I don’t want to do a lot of social media. SO, is there any point of me doing big comics projects -- I have 3 in the works! Who will I share them with and where? Do I care if more than 5 people read my stuff or not? I haven’t done my year end rejuvenation and regrouping activities since 2017. Time to do that again! My artist knows the way and I am ready to dive in deeper this fall!
I love that you are in a regrouping phase, Donna. This is a natural part of any life and any artist's life, right? We change constantly.
You've got some big questions here that I think some of these processes will help answer. I suggest going back to the first invitation to write your answers to My artist wants....
You may be surprised at the answers when you ink your desires.
In January we will be looking at committing to a specific project, so you have time to discern what needs to happen for a fresh start in January.
And THANK YOU for upgrading to paid. That means a lot to me. I have a strong belief in the value of this program, so that you want to pay for it corroborates my knowing that this stuff is helpful.
Yes, my new LEUCHTTURM1917 should arrive today and I'm going to start over at the beginning! I'm now officially retired so waiting for that monthly check! Well, I'll never totally retire. LOL. Because I love what I do!
I feel very much like, Karen. I don't see too much more writing in my future - perhaps just my blog/substack, but no more books. I'm also playing with mixed media collage after having creating my animal oracle deck in this fashion and I so enjoyed the process. While I've got a few of my pieces at a local home and garden shop (that benefits animal welfare and nature conservancy which I love!) I also offer them for sale via my website shop. Sold a few pieces so far, though still feel uncertain where this will all take me. But at this point in my life, I'm feeling like Karen, and just not sure about the 'rough and tumble' of selling my creative work outside of what I currently am doing.
I think it's so powerful to know what you want...which is what I hope this program helps solidify in people.
It's totally okay - IMHO - to be done with an art form. You have an unlimited well of creativity and it's so apparent in your art. Your oracle deck was a huge hit last summer at the workshop I taught in Vermont!
And it's okay to be unsure about it, too. I think you know how to roll with your instincts and honor what's right for you, Barb!
This could be useful for me. I'm currently transitioning away from writing because it no longer brings me joy. Instead of abruptly stopping, I'm winding down by completing my current writing projects and possibly getting them published. I'm uncertain about what I'll pursue next. I have been doing photography for a while and enjoy it, as long as I don't take it too seriously. I've realised that I'm not suited for the rough and tumble of selling my creative work.
It's so wise of you to recognize when you've reached the end of a cycle with one medium. Selling our work certainly is a whole other facet and one that is rarely enjoyable for most of us.
I think this will be a great program for you to wind down writing and get to know what feels alive and fresh for you next. I am glad you are here!

Enjoy the deeper dive!

Hooray! I love the fresh start of a new notebook. And congratulations on retiring! Ish.

Thank you, Cynthia! I appreciate your reflection. And thanks for the beautiful reminder of how your participants enjoyed my deck. Heart happy.

This looks like so much fun as I begin a new novel. Thanks for creating it!
Thank you Amy! Have fun with the beginning phases of your novel. Always so fresh and full of potential!
I love this idea. Genius!!
